Betelgeuse -  Victorian 14K GP Bohemian Garnet Star Pendant & Chain. This stunning pendant is crafted from base metal and 14K gold plate. The chain is 14K gold filled.  Featuring one natural rose cut garnet, 6 natural oval rose cut garnets,  30 natural rose cut garnets, Victorian styling and quality workmanship.  This glorious pendant is designed in the form of a star.  There is delicate milgrain detailing around the bezel set garnets,  and expertly claw set garnets, which make up this beautifully designed piece.  The gems are Bohemian garnets, which display a deep red wine colour.  The wonderful pendant has been made in rose gold and yellow gold, adding interest and beauty to the piece.  The bale is 14K yellow GP, which matches the yellow GF chain perfectly. This pendant is highly collectible and looks stunning when worn. A true Victorian era beauty to be enjoyed for many years to come.

History :  The history of garnet dates back to the Bronze Age, more than 5000 years ago. Its name, which has been used since these ancient times, was derived from the Latin word granatium, which means pomegranate (because the small, red crystals were thought to resemble pomegranate seeds).

In the history of the United Kingdom, the Victorian era was the period of Queen Victoria's reign, from 20 June 1837 until her death on 22 January 1901. The era followed the Georgian period and preceded the Edwardian period, and its later half overlaps with the first part of the Belle Époque era of Continental Europe.

Betelgeuse is a red star that explodes in stellar events called supernovae, which is visible across vast distances,  The star is 8.5 million years old.
