Antique Rose - Victorian 9K Rose Gold Rose-Cut Solitaire Diamond Ring.  This exquisite ring is hand - crafted in 9K rose gold, tested.  Featuring a natural antique rose-cut diamond, exquisite hand -wrought filigree work, quality gold-work and Victorian styling.  This amazing ring is completely hand-made, not casted but hand- wrought. This type of work is much more difficult than casting and takes so much skill and precision.  Masterfully wrought in beautiful filigree lace work,  set with a glowing rose-cut diamond. The colour of the gold is a rich rosy colour, which is found more so in antique jewelry and gives the piece an abundance of character and beauty.  The diamond is set in a foiled back cup, and delicate claws which secure holds the precious diamond in place. The shoulders are also decorated, leading down to a smooth and polished shank,  which allows for a comfortable fit.  These rare rings are not ofter seen in original condition, therefore a piece to be cherished.  What a wonderful engagement ring this would make for that special someone, it is unique, highly collectible, and so beautiful!

Note: You cannot look at rose cut diamond jewelry factually with a recut formula in mind, its value is object driven. Rose cuts are a greater challenge in estimating weight once they have been mounted (especially if they are closed back). These rose cut diamonds are hand cut, which makes them so special . This is a rare find.

The rose cut diamond is closed back ( a characteristic of Georgian and early Victorian jewelry). Closed back jewelry should never be immersed in liquid. To clean, wipe the ring gently with a damp (not saturated) cloth and pat dry with soft cloth.

In 1953, GIA formally created its diamond grading system, known as the 4 C's. The 4 Cs of diamond quality are the universally recognized diamond grading system still to be used today.  1n 1955, GIA presented its first diamond grading reports, which became the hallmark of grading reports in the diamond industry. Before this time in antiquity clients did not care about diamond grading. It was based more so on the size of the diamonds ( according to budget) , style, and sentiment.  This ring is a wonderful example of the Victorian era, just beautiful!

In History of the United Kingdom, the Victorian era was the period of Queen Victoria's reign, from the 20th of June 1837 until her death on the 22nd of January 1901.
