1967 Celebration - Vintage Marcel Boucher Silver Tone Crystal Stylized Maple Leaf Brooch. This collectors brooch is crafted from a silver toned metal. Featuring round cut clear crystal, Vintage styling, and a number 0568. These wonderful brooches were designed specifically for Canada's 1967 Centennial 100 year anniversary. It is made in the form of a stylized maple leaf. It has a bright silver finish and beautiful sparkling crystals. The brooch has a pin and secure lock mechanism, in perfect working order. This wonderful Vintage Boucher pin is highly collectible, truly a perfect gift or addition to any collection.
Marcel Boucher (1898–1965) was a French jeweller. In the early 1920s, he moved to New York City, where he developed a passion for jewellery design, studying under Pierre Cartier as an apprentice. By the 1930s, he was working for Mazer Brothers. In 1937 he oped his own business.
The Canadian Centennial was a yearlong celebration held in 1967 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. Celebrations in Canada occurred throughout the year but culminated on Dominion Day, July 1, 1967.
