Ardent Flame - Vintage 14K Gold Natural Garnet Pendant & Chain. This classic pendant is crafted from 14K yellow gold, tested. The chain is crafted from 14K yellow gold, hallmarked 14K. The pendant features one natural oval cut faceted garnet, vintage classic styling, and quality craftsmanship. This expertly claw-set garnet displays a beautiful red- wine color, displaying reddish/purplish hues. surrounded by a decorative frame of gold. History : Garnets were found as beads in a necklace worn by a young man in a grave that dates back to 3000 B.C. This is proof of the hardness and durability of the stone. The King of Saxony is said to have had a garnet of over 465 carats. Plato had his portrait engraved on a garnet by a Roman engraver.
