Tribal Adornment - Vintage Signed ALPACA MEXICO Black Onyx Bracelet. This gorgeous bracelet is hand-crafted from alpacca, signed ALPACA. Featuring 4 genuine rectangular shaped black onyx gemstones, 4 genuine genuine triangular carved black onyx gemstones, vintage Mexican tribal styling, and quality craftsmanship. This substantial bracelet showcases ornate segments, which are interspaced by rectangular jet black only gems, and carved black onyx masks gemstones. The side of the masks showcase dainty dangly earrings. The segments are joined by secure pins, which gives the bracelet flexibility, and allows the bracelet to sit on the wrist perfectly. The bracelet has a smooth and polished finish on the inside and a hidden slide and lock clasp. This vintage bracelet looks wonderful when worn, and adds a wonderful tribal flair to any jewelry collection. 

History: Black Onyx is the most famous variety of onyx. The stone has a long history of being associated with protective powers across many cultures including Ancient Greeks and Romans, Persian, Chinese and Indian. Throughout history, the stone has not only been used in amulets and jewellery, but also in carved cameos.

Jewelry items with a gray metallic finish, not quite as shiny as sterling silver, are often found marked alpaca. This type of alloy, sometimes spelled alpacca, indicates a metal that contains copper, zinc, and nickel along with tin. These items are often decorated with abalone insets or other stones.
