Daydream - Edwardian Gold Fill Turquoise Paste Brooch. This gorgeous brooch is crafted from gold fill, featuring a large cabochon turquoise paste (antique glass) gemstone, Edwardian styling and quality craftsmanship.  The expertly bezel set turquoise paste gemstone, exhibits a Persian turquoise colour that is pure perfection.  The design of the brooch has a simple polished gold gallery, which enhances the beautiful turquoise gemstone.  The pin and lock is original to the piece and closes and opens well.  The Edwardian era piece is highly collectible , and quite simple exquisite!

Paste jewellery is a special type of flint glass that emulates a number of gemstones. The origins of Paste jewellery date back to the mid-18th century, to a jeweller named Georges Frederic Stras, who worked as a jeweller to the king when he moved from Strasbourg to Paris in 1724.

“Gold-filled” is a USA industry standard that legally requires 1/20th, or 5% pure gold by weight. It's a strictly regulated process that involves pressure bonding multiple layers of solid 14k gold with extreme heat over a core of high quality jeweler's brass resulting in a durable, quality real gold product.
