Beauty & Power - Vintage Signed 'Celebrity' Oak Leaf Clip-On Earrings. These symbolic earrings are crafted from gold plate over metal, signed CELEBRITY.  Featuring lovely detail, and vintage styling. These pretty earrings Are made on the form of oak leaves. They exhibit lovely detail and a rich textured finish. The earrings are for pierced and non pierced ears, featuring a clip on backing. The vintage earrings are versatile, and look wonderful when worn.

History: About Celebrity NY ( 1950-1971)- Celebrity made finer costume jewelry from the 1950s through the 1970s in New York City. 

With a long history of symbolism, the towering oak tree has deep roots within the realms of strength, wisdom and healing. Proving time and time again to be the embodiment of beauty and power.

In England, John Wright and Henry and George Elkington got the first patent for gold and silver electroplating in 1840. The underpinnings of the process were engineered several decades earlier by a chemist from Italy named Luigi Brugnatelli. He was a good buddy of Alessandro Volta, for whom the volt is named.

Clip-on earrings enjoyed another surge in popularity during the 1920s when the short, boy-like hairstyles worn by flappers offered ear embellishments to become a focal point once again. Diamante clip-on earrings became prevalent in the 1920s due to their simple, elegant styling.
