English Countryside - Scarce Georgian Pinchbeck Velvet & Beadwork Bracelets.   These gorgeous bracelets are crafted from pinchbeck metal, silk velvet, and glass beads.  Featuring glorious pinchbeck ornate clasps in perfect working order, lovely rich chestnut brown velvet and turquoise, rosy pink, coral pink, emerald green and pearlized white glass beading.  The beading is in the form of floral work, the flowers are plump and beautifully executed, they are lined with brown linen.  A pair of these bracelets in this fine condition are a rare find, these are absolutely breathtaking when worn, truly a Georgian treasure to be cherished for many years to come.

Pinchbeck is a form of brass, an alloy of copper and zinc mixed in proportions so that it closely resembles gold in appearance. It was invented in the early 18th century by Christopher Pinchbeck (died 1732), a London clock- and watch-maker.

Today genuine pinchbeck jewellery is highly valued and collectible in its own right, particularly pieces which come from the material's early use in the Georgian period.
