The earrings feature two natural tear drop jadeite gems, vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. These  special earrings have a gold ball surmount for pierced ears, and beautiful green jadeite dangles, which are securely and expertly set to a gold scalloped setting. This style of earring became popular with antique jewelry dating back to the late Georgian era, which through the ages have become a classic design. History: Jadeite is translucent to transparent. Jadeite is characterized by its green color and tough aggregates of compact fibrous crystals. It can be distinguished from nephrite by its vitreous luster on polished surfaces (polished nephrite has an oily luster) and by its higher density and refractive index.

Jadeite is the principal mineral making up the most valuable form of jade, a precious stone particularly prized in China. Most gem-quality jadeite jade comes from northern Myanmar.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
