Flower Power - Vintage 14K Natural Ruby Cabochon Flower Ring. This unique ring is crafted from 14K yellow gold, hallmarked 14K. The ring features one natural ruby cabochon, vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. This gorgeous ring is made in the form of a flower. The gallery on this ring consists of an expertly bezel set deep red ruby, displaying reddish/purplish hues. The precious gemstone has a polished and textured petal surround, adding interest and beauty to the piece. History: Records suggest that rubies were traded along China's North Silk Road as early as 200 BC. Chinese noblemen adorned their armor with rubies because they believed the gem would grant protection. Burma has been a significant ruby source since at least 600 AD.

History. Gold has been known since prehistoric times and was one of the first metals to be worked, mainly because it was to be found as nuggets or as particles in the beds of streams. Such was the demand that by 2000 BC the Egyptians began mining gold.

The Victorians looked at the humanistic qualities of each flower to assign certain meanings to them, and it's not difficult to see why they gave bluebells the meaning of kindness, peonies bashfulness, rosemary for remembrance, and tulips for passion. Many of these meanings remain today.
