Golden Adornment - Vintage 10K Gold Herringbone Necklace. This gorgeous necklace is crafted from 10K Gold, hallmarked 10K. The necklace features classic vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. This necklace is a beautiful herringbone design, which has a lovely polished finished. The necklace lays flat when worn, and the polished finish catches the light perfectly. The necklace has a very secure sliding clasp, which locks into place, and an additional hook closure for extra security. History: Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.

It is a classic chain style tracing its origins to Ancient Egypt, and is named for its resemblance to the many slanted bones of the herring fish.
