Heart Of My Heart - Vintage 14K Gold Diamond Cluster Stylized Heart Wedding Set.  This gorgeous wedding set is crafted from 14K yellow gold and white gold, hallmarked 14K.  Featuring 24 natural round brilliant diamonds, vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery on these rings is created in white gold, which showcases a sea of sparkling diamonds. The engagement ring is made in the form of a heart, whilst the wedding band is perfectly designed to fit closely and snuggly with the engagement ring. The romantic and meaningful idea of this design is the heart engagement ring being given to symbolize the  love and commitment to your partner. Whilst the diamond wedding band enhances the heart engagement ring, representing the growing and stronger love between a couple. The heart is created on a slant, which allows the heart's design to be subtle, almost like a hidden love token, between you and your partner. The gallery also showcases wonderful yellow gold swirls, which outline the heart and frame the beautiful diamonds. The bands are made in yellow gold, which gives the ring contrast to the silvery white gold. The shanks are smooth and polished, which allow for a comfortable fit, and easy sizing. This unique vintage ring is a modern take on the 17th/18th century 'witches hearts', which evolved to mean 'bewitched my love'.... so romantic and beautiful.

Note: Appraisal included with the ring. Appraised at $3200.00 (Tax Excluded)

History: The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.

Although the origin of white color gold dates back to 1710, where it was discovered by two alchemists in Germany, it wasn't used widely until much later. White gold as we know it today was really popularised in the 1920s. Although it might seem strange, this luxury material came to popularity in wartime.

The heart symbol took a slight twist in meaning during the 17th century, particularly in Scotland when 'witches heart' or 'Luckenbooth' twisted heart brooches were used as talismans against evil spirits. By the 18th century however, the witches heart symbol evolved to mean 'bewitched by love', often set with garnets.
