On This Day In 1907 - Edwardian 14K Gold Diamond Engagement Ring. This unique ring is crafted from 14K yellow and white gold, hallmarked 14K. Featuring a natural Old European Cut diamond, 4 natural round brilliant cut diamonds, exquisite detailing, quality gold work, and a precious inscription (initials) and dated 07 for 1907. The hexagon shaped setting houses a beautiful Old European cut diamond. The diamond is clear, bright, white and full of life and sparkle. The shoulders feature cut-work and milgrain detail, which is crafted from white gold and adorned with 4 sparkling diamonds. The gallery(mount) exhibits beautiful open worked scrolls. The band is made of yellow gold, it is smooth and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit. This breathtaking ring would make the most perfect antique engagement ring for that special someone. Truly an heirloom piece to be treasured for many years to come.

Comments: In 1953, GIA formally created its diamond grading system, known as the 4 C's. The 4 Cs of diamond quality are the universally recognized diamond grading system still to be used today. 1n 1955, GIA presented its first diamond grading reports, which became the hallmark of grading reports in the diamond industry. Before this time in antiquity clients did not care about diamond grading. It was based more so on the size of the diamonds ( according to budget) , style, and sentiment.
The Edwardian era or Edwardian period of British history spanned the reign of King VII, 1901 to 1910, and sometimes extended to the First World War. The death of Queen Victorian in January 1901 marked the end of the Victorian era.
