Salo - Vintage Signed Gold Plated Swarovski 'Alexandrite' Crystal Rhinestone Earrings. These attractive earrings are crafted from gold plate over metal, hallmarked SALO. Featuring two pear shaped faceted Swarovski crystal Rhinestones, and vintage classic stying. These earrings are bezel set with beautiful alexandrite colored crystal rhinestones, displaying a purplish/reddish hue. They are for pierced ears, and feature posts and suction cup backings. These earrings are classic and elegant, truly a wonderful addition to any costume jewelry collection.

History: Joseph Strasser could be credited with the precursor to our present-day Rhinestone, but it was really when Georg Freidrich Strass in 1760 invented the first ever rhinestone (artificial gemstone) from a special type of crystal found in the Rhine River that the stones we know today were born.
