Ruby Diamond Duo - Vintage 10K Gold Ruby & Diamond Band Ring. This pretty ring is crafted from 10K yellow and white gold, hallmarked 10K, and a makers mark. The ring features 3 natural round cut rubies, 2 natural round cut diamonds, vintage classic styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery on this ring is expertly set with beautiful red rubies, displaying a reddish/pinkish hue. The precious rubies are interspaced by sparkling clear white diamonds. The band is smooth and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit and easy sizing. This vintage ring would make a unique wedding band, gift or addition to any vintage jewelry collection.

History : The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

Rubies have been particularly prized in Asian countries. Records suggest that rubies were traded along China's North Silk Road as early as 200 BC. Chinese noblemen adorned their armor with rubies because they believed the gem would grant protection. Burma has been a significant ruby source since at least 600 AD.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
