Starstruck - Vintage 10K Gold Natural Diamond Wedding Band Ring.  This vintage ring is crafted from 10K yellow gold, hallmarked 10K. History: Diamond was first discovered and mined in India. In Sanskrit it was addressed as 'vajra', 'thunderbolt' and 'indrayudha' – warrior god Indra's weapon. Early descriptions of diamond date back to the 4th century BC, by when diamonds were a valuable material already.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.

Gypsy rings get their name from the luck associated with the star setting around the stone. A Gypsy setting is whereby the gemstone is sunk into its mount with the table facet flush with the mount surface. There are usually between one and five stones set in the ring. It was a very popular setting in Victorian times.
