Glittering Heart - Vintage Silver Metal Crystal Rhinestone Heart Brooch. This lovely brooch is crafted from a silver toned metal. The brooch features marquise and round cut faceted crystal rhinestones, vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. This pretty brooch is made in the form of a stylized heart, which is adorned by sparkling crystals. The pin on the back of the brooch is original, and locks into place with a secure rotating lock mechanism. History: The term Rhinestone was given to the little sparkles after the river Rhine, where quartz pebbles, rock crystals with a high lead content were originally found. Folk would collect them from the shores, jewellers cutting and moulding them into little imitation diamonds.
