Texture & Colour - Vintage Brutalist 10K Tri Gold Ring. This vintage ring is crafted from 10K yellow, rose, and white gold, hallmarked 10K and a makers mark RO. The ring features a vintage brutalist design, and quality craftsmanship. This gallery of this ring is made up of bars of gold, showcasing wonderful texture and diamond cutting. The diamond cutting sparkles, and adds a  beautiful contrast to the matt finished texturing. The band is crafted in yellow gold, and features a smooth polished finish which allows for easy sizing and a comfortable fit. This unique vintage ring is a perfect addition to any vintage jewelry collection.

History: Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.

Rose gold was first used in early 19th century Russia by the famed jeweler Carl Faberge in his famous Faberge Eggs, as was known as Russian Gold. Rose gold later gained popularity in the United States during the lavish and feminine 1920's, and was worn in engagement rings and fine jewelry.

White gold has been around since the turn of the 19th century, but it wasn't until the 1920s when it really started gaining popularity. At the time, platinum had been the preferred precious metal for jewellery. But it quickly became scarce as World War II raged on, and countries began to stockpile it for military use.

This radical style of jewelry is typified by massive, jagged and highly abstract designs that are at once intriguing and perhaps slightly disquieting. In a sense Brutalism is the more uncompromising, extreme little brother of Modernism.

The Brutalist movement in jewelry did not fully emerge and truly take off until the 1960's-70's. Within the confines of jewelry design, Brutalist pieces from that era often times had an almost handmade look with bumpy, knobby or rough textures. Think repeated geometric forms that are often asymmetric and abstract.
