Mellow Yellow - Vintage Signed 'Sigel CA' Sterling Silver Natural Lemon Quartz Solitaire Ring. This lovely ring is crafted in sterling silver, hallmarked 925 for sterling, and a makers mark Sigel CA. This ring features one natural fancy cut lemon quartz, classic styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery on this ring is expertly claw-set with a beautiful delicate yellow coloured lemon quartz gemstone, displaying yellowish/greenish hues. History: Lemon quartz is not the same as citrine, although both are yellow varieties of the mineral quartz. Lemon quartz is created by treating clear or smoky quartz with gamma radiation and heat, giving it a bright, lemony hue, while natural citrine is less common and gets its color from iron impurities. Lemon Quartz is mined in Brazil.

The term "sterling silver" probably originated in eastern Germany when five towns formed the Hanseatic League in the 1100s. These town minted their own coins of 92.5 percent silver. When Britain sold cattle and grain to the League, they were paid in "Easterling coins".
