Sooooo Couture - Vintage Retro 18K Gold Natural Fancy Colored Pink & Cognac Diamond Textured Earrings. These exclusive earrings are crafted from 18K yellow gold, hallmarked 18ct, tested and confirmed. The earring backs are crafted from 14K gold, hallmarked 14K. Featuring three natural round cut natural pink diamonds, one natural round cut cognac diamond, a unique design, and high quality craftsmanship. These wonderful earrings are hand-made, and one-of-a-kind. The front of the earrings are textured, however what I love most about these earrings is that each earring has a different and unique texture. One of the earrings is expertly bezel set with a beautiful natural pale pink diamond and the other earring is set with two natural pale pink diamonds, and one natural cognac diamond. The combination of the pink and cognac diamonds is absolutely stunning against the rich buttery textured gold. I am certain if a high end gallery had these in their window they would be priced at a lot more, simply for their artistic value and uniqueness of the design. Not to mention the high karat gold and beautiful natural colored diamonds. Quite honestly I could see a model wearing these down the runway in the 70s/80s.  These vintage beauties are modernistic and absolutely fabulous!

The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

Pink diamonds are still occasionally found in the Golconda mine and in Brazil but approximately 80% of the world's pink diamonds originated from the Argyle mine in Kimberley, Western Australia while the mine was in operation (the Argyle mine closed in 2020).

The term 'cognac diamond' (along with 'champagne diamond') was invented by a clever marketing expert working for the Rio Tinto Diamond Co during the late 1980's. Celeste ethical wedding ring with white, champagne and cognac diamonds. Rio Tinto own and operate The Argyle diamond mine in Western Australia.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
