Edward VII was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and Emperor of India ... The Edwardian era, which covered Edward's reign and was named after him, coincided with the start of a new century and heralded significant ...   George Frederick Ernest Albert : George V, in full George Frederick Ernest Albert, (born June 3, 1865, London, England—died January 20, 1936, Sandringham, Norfolk), king of the United Kingdom from 1910 to 1936, the second son of Prince Albert Edward, later King Edward VII.

Without doubt Almandine is the oldest Garnet known to mankind. It is also the most common Garnet. Origin of name: after the city of Alabanda near Miletos and Ephesos in Asia Minor (Turkey). Pliny the Elder mentions Alabanda as a Garnet cutting and trade center.

The ancient Greeks believed opals gave their owners the gift of prophecy and guarded them from disease. Europeans have long considered the gem a symbol of hope, purity, and truth. Opal is considered an October birthstone.

The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

Comments: This wonderful ring would have been manufactured during the reign of George V.   Antiques following Edwardians reign are sometimes still listed as being Edwardian.  This ring is a lovely example from the period.
