Sands Of Time - Ancient Egyptian Circa 1000 BC Rose Quartz Beaded Necklace. This amazing necklace is crafted from a natural rose quartz bead, numerous bunny beads and a silver clasp. The Ancient rose quartz has the most beautiful pale pink colour, whilst the mummy beads are varied earth tone colours. The mummy beads are made into a faience and were buried with their loved ones, the beads were carefully hand - made and given with amulets , funerary goods, and rituals to ensure they were protected on the way to the after life. To hold something as Ancient as these is something else, yet alone owning something with this kind of history and meaning. These precious beads have been strung on durable thread and attached is a secure silver lobster claw clasp. This antiquity is truly a very special item to be cherished and enjoyed for many years to come.

Note: These earth toned "mummy beads" were made of quartz sand kneaded into paste which were rolled around a straw reed, cut into thin heishi (shell) discs or longer tubes then fired into intricate netted jewelry and clothing designs.
