History:  Blue zircon was popular during Victorian times and frequently adorned English estate jewelry from the 1880s. Zircon with a cloudy or smoky appearance was popular in mourning jewelry. In the 1920s, heat treatment became customary practice to enhance the color of zircon gemstones for jewelry.

Ancient artifacts discovered throughout the centuries have led scientists and historians to believe that the Egyptians first began mining gold around 3100 BCE, before the first developments of written language. That's pretty remarkable – even before the Egyptians invented hieroglyphics, they mined and collected gold!

Rose gold was first used in early 19th century Russia by the famed jeweler Carl Faberge in his famous Faberge Eggs, as was known as Russian Gold. Rose gold later gained popularity in the United States during the lavish and feminine 1920's, and was worn in engagement rings and fine jewelry.

The Edwardian era corresponds to the reign of King Edward VII in Great Britain, whose short-lived governance (1901-1910) followed Victoria's long reign and preceded the modern House of Windsor in England. The "Edwardian" style broadly encompasses the years of 1901 through to 1919.
