Rhinestones which are also known as diamantes or paste date back as far as the thirteenth century where they were first made from Czechoslovakian or Bohemian hand blown glass. The Romans associated their god of the sun, “Jupiter,” with the stone. ... However, topaz is most well-known for its said ability to enhance creativity and personal success of its wearer. It has also been said that topaz was one of the stones in the breastplate of the high priest in the Bible.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
