A Touch Of Pink - Vintage Signed 'Pomadour' Silver Double Graduated Pearl Strand & Crystal Rhinestone Necklace. This gorgeous necklace is crafted from a silver metal, signed Pompadour. The necklace featured faux pearls, 9 round cut crystals rhinestones, vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. This necklace exhibits two strands of high quality  champagne colored pearls, and a pretty clasp, which is set with vibrant cerise pink crystals. The pink crystals have that pop of color, which looks stunning with the pearls. The clasp is a secure hook, and slide catch, which locks into place perfectly. These vintage pearls would make a perfect bridal , or special occasion accessory. Just lovely!

History: Two forms of faux pearls were manufactured in Italy, the earliest, produced from at least the 13th century, and hailing from the ingenious glass workshops of Venice, were imitation glass pearls. Some of these pearls were apparently made from an intriguing mixture of powdered glass, and egg white.

Joseph Strasser could be credited with the precursor to our present-day Rhinestone, but it was really when Georg Freidrich Strass in 1760 invented the first ever rhinestone (artificial gemstone) from a special type of crystal found in the Rhine River that the stones we know today were born.

Pompadour pearls was a company who made high quality faux pearls in England.
