Abstract & Modernistic - Estate Sterling Silver Turquoise Cubism Ring. This Estate ring is crafted from sterling Silver, hallmarked 925. Featuring two square shaped turquoise (simulated) gemstones, a modernistic cubism design, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery on this ring showcases two turquoise blue gemstones, with a delicate matrix pattern on the stones. The stones are inlaid in a bypass designed mount, which is substantial and sleek. The shank is smooth and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit and easy sizing. This estate ring looks great when worn, and fits in well with todays fashion.

History: Turquoise figured prominently in the ancient Egyptian jewelry of the pharaohs. It was revered even to the point that the Egyptians were the first to develop a turquoise glass glaze - the first simulated turquoise.

The story of silver mining began about 5,000 years ago. Silver was first mined around 3,000 BCE in Anatolia, now located in modern-day Turkey. The precious metal helped early civilizations in the Near East, Ancient Greece to flourish.

The sterling alloy originated in continental Europe and was being used for commerce as early as the 12th century in the area that is now northern Germany. A piece of sterling silver dating from Henry II's reign was used as a standard in the Trial of the Pyx until it was deposited at the Royal Mint in 1843.
