Alaskan Nights - Vintage Sterling Silver Marquise Black Alaskan Diamond Filigree Heart Pendant & Chain. This pretty pendant is crafted from sterling silver, hallmarked TITAN STERLING. The chain is also crafted from sterling silver, hallmarked 925, ITALY. The pendant features one natural oval cut black Alaskan diamond gemstone, two natural marquise shaped black Alaskan gemstones (Hematite), vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery on this pendant showcases 3 genuine charcoal grey Black Alaskan gemstones, which are expertly claw-set amongst a sea of filigree in the form of a heart.  The pendant has been matched up to a sterling silver box chain, featuring a secure spring ring clasp. This vintage pendant is a wonderful versatile piece for daily wear.

History: History: Hematite (Black Alaskan Diamond) residues are also found in graves from 80,000 years ago. Near Rydno in Poland and Lovas in Hungary red chalk mines have been found that are from 5000 BC, belonging to the Linear Pottery culture at the Upper Rhine.

The term "sterling silver" probably originated in eastern Germany when five towns formed the Hanseatic League in the 1100s. These town minted their own coins of 92.5 percent silver. When Britain sold cattle and grain to the League, they were paid in "Easterling coins".
