Post Medieval 16th-18th century bronze cross pendant. This rare cross in made from bronze, it has a beautiful aged patina and shows traces of gold gilt. The cross is very intricate on both sides, therefore it could be worn either way. The front of the cross has a design of flowers, foliage and scroll work. The back is also designed with a another cross and ancient writing. The cross is very well preserved. I have matched up a contemporary bronze 18" chain with the cross. The warm tone of the bronze chain really picks up the beautiful traces of gold gilt and aged patina of the bronze in the pendant. This is a rare artifact that can be worn with care. It would make a wonderful gift or addition to any early collection.
