Meidmar - Ancient Viking 8th-11th Century Silver Pendant - This amazing pendant is crafted from silver, featuring an ancient design, quality silver work and a magnificent silver patina. This pendant has a beautiful shape, displaying glorious cut-out work and decoration. The decoration is raised and detailed, with scroll type work. The patina is extraordinary on this piece, a beautiful soft satiny shine adds beauty and character to the piece. The back is also shiny with a slight spot of verdigris which is present from age, this should not be removed, since this is part of the artifacts journey in history. The very attractive pendant has contemporary sterling silver spring rings and has been matched up to a contemporary chain. The chain is an Italian hand finished piece, with an attractive chain link. It is substantial and strong enough for the amulet, with a secure lobster claw clasp, in perfect working order. This rare find would make a perfect unique gift , or wonderful addition to any early collection.
