Sway The Night Away - Art Deco Silver Rock Crystal & Paste Earrings.  These exquisite earrings are crafted from 900 silver, tested.  Featuring two genuine rock crystal briolettes, twenty round cut paste gems, Art Deco designing and quality silver-work.  The beautiful briolettes are tear drop shaped and faceted. they are clear and sparkle beautifully.  The surmounts are silver and feature hand set paste gems, adding more sparkle and beauty to these lovely earrings. Even the caps that hold the briolettes are detailed, quite often they are plain so this is another exquisite feature.  They are for pierced ears and feature sterling silver shepherd hooks. These Art Deco era earrings are so versatile, they can be worn casually or formally. Truly heirloom earrings to be treasured and enjoyed for many years to come.

Note: Paste is a type of glass which has been used since the 18th century. During the 18th and early 19th century fine diamond and precious stone jewelry was often part of the family heirloom jewelry therefore they would have replicas made from paste to safeguard their heritage. They would wear their paste jewels during travel (in stage coaches), grand functions and to the party season in London where admirers wouldn't be able to tell the difference. This is now why paste jewellery is so highly sought after , as it was made with just the same amount of highly skilled craftsmanship as antique fine precious jewellery, so much so that this type of jewellery has become a collector's item.
