Blue & White Sparkler - Vintage 14K White Gold Natural Blue & White Diamond Ring. This gorgeous ring is crafted from 14K white gold, hallmarked 14K. The ring features two natural round brilliant cut diamonds, two natural blue diamonds (treated), classic vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. This ring is comprised of expertly claw-set alternating blue and white diamonds. The clear diamonds are white, whilst the blue diamonds  display a beautiful teal/blue colour. All the precious diamonds sparkle beautifully, and the combination of the blue and white add contrast, and beauty to the ring. The gallery on this ring is solid white gold, as oppose to open baskets, however the settings at the Botton are open for easy cleaning. The band of the ring has a slight taper. It is smooth , and polished, which allows for easy sizing, and a comfortable fit. This vintage ring looks amazing on its own, matched up to another ring, or as a stacker.

History: The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

India has always been the source of Blue Diamonds. Such stones were initially found in India and brought to the West by a gem dealer Jean-Baptiste Tavernier in the 17th century. He sold a large blue stone to King Louis XIV of France.

Irradiated:  Diamonds: This is not a new technology. Scientists began irradiating diamonds more a century ago, after the English chemist, Sir William Crookes, discovered in 1904 that a diamond's color could be changed after being exposed to radium salts in 1904.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.

Although the origin of white color gold dates back to 1710, where it was discovered by two alchemists in Germany, it wasn't used widely until much later. White gold as we know it today was really popularised in the 1920s. Although it might seem strange, this luxury material came to popularity in wartime.
