Bohemian Rhapsody - Vintage 12K Rose Gold Over Sterling Silver Bohemian Garnet Cluster Ring.  This exquisite ring is crafted from 12K rose gold overlay, and sterling silver hallmarked 925 for sterling silver, and a makers mark G. This ring features one natural oval shape faceted Bohemian garnet, 12 natural old rose cut garnets, Victorian styling, and quality craftsmanship.  This stunning ring is oval shaped, and expertly set with deep red wine Bohemian garnets, and an open-work garnet surround.  The vintage piece is substantial and has wonderful solid slightly tapered shoulders. The shank is smooth and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit. This Vintage stunning ring would make a perfect addition to any jewelry collection.

Note: This ring was found in Germany's Black Forest in an attic, which was part of a jewellers vintage garnet collection. This piece is old new stock. So even though it is a Vintage piece, because it was stored away the ring is in pristine condition.  Such a find!

The history of garnet dates back to the Bronze Age, more than 5000 years ago. ... Its name, which has been used since these ancient times, was derived from the Latin word granatium, which means pomegranate (because the small, red crystals were thought to resemble pomegranate seeds).

The word “Bohemian” derives from the region of Bohemia, a kingdom which later became Czechoslovakia. Among other flourishing trades, this region produced gorgeous, deep red garnet gemstones and a style of jewelry that quickly became popular in the late Victorian Era and through the turn of the century.
