By The Light Of The Silvery Moon - Victorian Art Nouveau 9K Rose Gold Moonstone Pendant. This exquisite pendant is crafted from 9K rose gold and yellow gold, tested and confirmed. Featuring 2 natural round cabochon moonstone gemstones, Victorian Art Nouveau styling, and quality gold work. This Victorian era pendant has a graceful openwork design, which is embellished with textured yellow gold leaves. There are two coronet set mystical moonstone gems, one in the central portion of the pendant and the other as a dangle. The suspended moonstone adds eye- catching movement to the piece. The moonstones are translucent and white in colour with the most beautiful blue hue, which is displayed in different light intensities. The decoration has gentle curved scrolls, floral and foliage motifs, a characteristic of Victorian and Edwardian Art Nouveau jewelry. The pendant has been matched up to a 14K rose gold fill chain, which compliments the piece perfectly. This Victorian era antique pendant is highly collectible and quite simply beautiful. This would make a stunning bridal necklace, gift or addition to any fine jewelry collection.
Note: In the history of the United Kingdom, the Victorian era was the period of Queen Victoria's reign, from June 1837 until her death on 22 January 1901. The era followed the Georgian period and preceded the Edwardian period, and its later half overlaps with the first part of the Belle Époque era of Continental Europe.
Art Nouveau, ornamental style of art that flourished between about 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United States. Art Nouveau is characterized by its use of a long, sinuous, organic line and was employed most often in architecture, interior design, jewelry and glass design, posters, and illustration.
Ancients cultures coveted moonstone and created origins for the stone as spectacular as the stone itself. Many believed the stone was created from moonbeams. Others strongly associated the stone's powers with the moon. Moonstone is thought to bring the wearer good fortune and feelings of love and affection.
