Caravelle - Vintage Gold Plated Emerald Green Enamel Pendant/Pocket Watch & 14K GF Chain. This lovely watch is crafted from gold plate over metal. The chain is crafted from 14K gold fill, hallmarked 1/20 14K GF.  Featuring enamel -work, vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship.  This lovely watch is made by Caravelle, Bulova. This pendant/pocket watch showcases beautiful emerald green enamel on both sides and gold tone floral etching. The mechanism has 17 jewels and is Swiss made. The watch keeps perfect time, and is in wonderful condition. Both sides of the covers close very well, one is a spring closure and the other a snap closure. The chain is vintage, and a twisted rope design, featuring a spring ring clasp. This vintage watch can be worn as a pocket watch or a pendant watch on a chain. Truly a beautiful timepiece to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come. 

History: 1962 is the year that Bulova introduces its Caravelle line of jeweled watches.

Luigi Brunatelli, an Italian chemist, is most widely credited for inventing electroplating. Brugnatelli published his findings on the use of Volta piles to deposit a layer of gold onto a metallic surface in 1805.
