Caribbean Seas - Vintage 9K Gold London Blue Topaz & Aquamarine Cluster Ring.  This gorgeous ring is crafted from 9K yellow gold, hallmarked 9CT(British Hallmark). Featuring a genuine pear shaped faceted London Blue Topaz, two genuine pear shaped faceted aquamarines, 12 genuine round cut aquamarine gemstones, Classic styling and quality gold-work.  The central portion of the gallery houses a claw set London Blue topaz , displaying an intense vibrant blue colour with a greenish, blue hue.  Surrounding the topaz is a halo of sparkling pale bluish /green aquamarines.  Like the Caribbean sea the combination of these glistening blue colours is breathtaking. The cluster of gems is flanked by a beautiful pear shaped aquamarine on each side, adding interest and beauty to the piece. The band is polished and smooth, which allows for easy sizing and a comfortable fit.  This wonderful Vintage ring would make a unique engagement ring, gift or addition to any fine jewelry collection. 

Note: In the 1970s gem treatments were created to give white topaz a beautiful blue colour. London Blue Topaz is known to have a dark steel blue or inky blue colour. London Blue topaz is the current market favourite. It is only slightly more expensive than Swiss Blue topaz. This blazing gem has been long associated with the Egyptian island of Topazios now known as St. John's Island found in the Red Sea. London Blue Topaz shows the darkest tone of blue among all topaz varieties. Topaz is most found in Brazil, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, and China. Other deposits are located in Australia, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Scotland, Tasmania and Ireland.  

The name aquamarine is derived from two Latin words: aqua meaning water and marina, meaning of the sea. It has been said that the mineral beryl gives the wearer protection against foes in battle or litigation. The first documented aquamarine was found in 1723 in the Adun - Chalon mountains of Siberia. The majority of aquamarine is now found in Brazil.
