Celebration - Estate 9K/10K Rose & White Gold Morganite And White Zircon Ring. This lovely ring is crafted from 9K rose gold, and 10K white gold, hallmarked 10K and 375 (British Hallmark for 9K gold), a makers mark C.R, a Birmingham assay, and a letter date 'O' for the year 2013.  Featuring one natural oval cut faceted morganite, 8 natural round cut white zircons, classic styling, quality craftsmanship, and full crisp British hallmarks. The pretty ring showcases an expertly double claw-set morganite. The morganite displays a beautiful champagne pink color, and clear white zircon gemstones, which enhance the morganite perfectly. The zircons are set in white gold, whilst the gallery and band are crafted in rose gold. The shank is smooth and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit and easy sizing. This gorgeous Estate ring looks wonderful when worn, truly a perfect gift for that special someone.

History: The morganite was first discovered in Madagascar in 1911 and was initially called "Pink Beryl". However, the famous gemmologist George Frederick Kunz renamed it "Morganite" in honour of his patron, New York banker and philanthropist John Pierpont Morgan. Morganite belongs to the 'Beryl' family.

A gemstone able to withstand incredible pressure, some pieces of zircon date over 4 billion years old. In the middle ages, zircon was believed to promote sleep, as well as bring prosperity, honor, and wisdom to its wearer. The name of this gem comes from the Persian word zargun, meaning “gold-hued.”

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.

Rose gold was first used in early 19th century Russia by the famed jeweler Carl Faberge in his famous Faberge Eggs, as was known as Russian Gold. Rose gold later gained popularity in the United States during the lavish and feminine 1920's, and was worn in engagement rings and fine jewelry.

Although the origin of white color gold dates back to 1710, where it was discovered by two alchemists in Germany, it wasn't used widely until much later. White gold as we know it today was really popularised in the 1920s. Although it might seem strange, this luxury material came to popularity in wartime.
