Drengr - Ancient Viking 8th -11th Century Silver Shield Amulet Pendant . This rare artifact is crafted from silver, tested and confirmed. Featuring an ancient viking design, wonderful detail and quality silver-work. The amulet is designed as a shield, round in shape with a fantastic bale, which is substantial and solid. The bale has been hand-hammered onto the shield, and exhibits character. The shield is stunning with the focus on the beautiful aged patina and hand hammered decoration , which surrounds the shield. The artifact has been matched up to a contemporary chain, featuring a secure lobster claw clasp. The chain is sterling silver, hallmarked 925, Italy. The shield amulet would have been worn into battle by a warrior, a very intriguing piece indeed to be treasured and cherished for many years to come.
Note: Drengr means Warrior in Old Norse language.
Comments: It is recommended by museums not to remove the beautiful natural patina (No polishing) To clean gently wipe with a soft damp cloth (water only) and pat dry immediately with soft dry cloth.
