Edwardian sterling silver pink sapphire paste choker. This exquisite choker is made of sterling silver, hallmarked sterling silver. This amazing piece features 6 filigree panels accented with 6 beautiful sapphire pink pastes. The pastes are expertly set with delicate milgrain detailed bezels. The filigree work is fine and beautifully detailed. The panels have extended (13) rows of gorgeous delicate belcher chain that join the panels together. This beautiful choker is made of a very high quality. The panels and the chain look stunning against the neck. Although the workmanship is fine and delicate, the choker is substantial and durable. The choker has a slide closure which is very secure, this type of closure is a characteristic of most of the Victorian and Edwardian chokers. Earlier chokers usually would have loops , where a ribbon could be tied at the back. Later chokers had hooks or spring ring clasps. Some would have fancy clasps set with genuine gemstones or paste stones. This particular choker is a rare find and absolutely breathtaking when worn.
