Enchained Luxury - Estate Gold Plate Over Sterling Silver Diamond Knot Ring. This couture ring is crafted from gold plate over sterling silver, hallmarked 925 for sterling silver, and a makers mark JS. This ring features 116 natural round cut diamonds, classic styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery on this ring is made in the form of a knot. The central piece is silver, and adorned by sparkling diamonds, whilst the shoulders and band of the ring are gold plate over sterling silver. This estate ring has a classic, modernistic feel, with a touch of elegance. 

History: The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

History. Silver was discovered after gold and copper about 4000 bce, when it was used in jewelry and as a medium of exchange. The earliest known workings of significant size were those of the pre-Hittites of Cappadocia in eastern Anatolia.

The term "sterling silver" probably originated in eastern Germany when five towns formed the Hanseatic League in the 1100s. These town minted their own coins of 92.5 percent silver. When Britain sold cattle and grain to the League, they were paid in "Easterling coins".

Luigi Brugnatelli — an Italian chemist — invented this method in 1805. He applied a thin layer of gold onto a silver article to create the plating. With this technique, Brugnatelli brought the golden aesthetic to the reach of mass people.
