English Beauty - Edwardian (Post) 9K Rose Gold & Yellow Gold Engraved Cross Pendant. This wonderful pendant is crafted from 9K rose & yellow gold, hallmarked 375 for 9K gold, a makers mark, and letter date for 1919. Featuring Victorian / Edwardian styling, exquisite detail and engravings, full hallmarks, and quality gold-work. This superb pendant features a stylized cross motif with a rare hard to find blanc polished central portion (Most are engraved with an initial or monogram) Surrounded by a crowned cross frame of exquisite engravings. The back of the fob is polished and displays full hallmarks. The bale on this pendant is solid and substantial, as is the pendant. The fob has a beautiful patina and exhibits a beautiful rosy colour with touches of yellow gold. The pendant has been matched up to a 14K GF chain. The wonderful Antique piece is in wonderful condition for its age, truly highly collectible, wearable and quite simply stunning!
Note : A fob is a small ornament attached to a watch chain. Once pocket watches became out of fashion many fobs were removed and worn on a chain. Fobs are usually beautifully decorated with engravings, chasing, embossing, enamelling, or set jewels. This is fine example of a high quality fob pendant.
This pendant is Post Edwardian, dated 1919, which would date it to George the V era. George V, in full George Frederick Ernest Albert, (born June 3, 1865, London, England—died January 20, 1936, Sandringham, Norfolk), king of the United Kingdom from 1910 to 1936, the second son of Prince Albert Edward, later King Edward VII.
