Enthralling - Estate 18K Gold Plate Hand-Set Crystal Pendant & Sterling Silver Chain. This gorgeous pendant is crafted from 18K gold plate over metal. The chain is crafted from sterling silver, hallmarked 925, and ITALY. The pendant features one oval faceted crystal, and numerous round cut faceted crystals, art deco styling, and quality craftsmanship. This pendant is expertly hand-set with a beautiful sparkling olive green crystal, which is adorned by clear sparkling crystals in an open-work frame. The gallery showcases a beautiful white and yellow gold finish, which sets off the gems beautifully. The bale has an art deco feel, which is decorative and also enhanced with sparkling crystals. The chain is crafted in sterling silver, which matches the front of the pendant perfectly, however the pendant can also be worn with a gold chain. The chain features a lobster-claw clasp, which is in perfect working order.  This beautiful estate pendant would make a perfect special occasion piece, which would enhance any formal dress or gown. 

History: Centuries ago, quartz pebbles with a high lead content were found sparkling on the banks of Europe's Rhine River. These beautiful, natural stones were highly coveted and were eventually depleted, inspiring jewelers to create an imitation, aptly named the "rhinestone."

The term "sterling" originally referred to the Silver Easterlings, coins made from silver mined in Eastern Europe. Over time, the term became synonymous with high-quality silver products.
