Green Goddess - Estate 14K White Gold Emerald & Diamond Ring. This gorgeous ring is crafted from 14K yellow gold, hallmarked 14K inside the shank of the ring. Featuring a genuine natural oval cut faceted emerald , 30 genuine natural round cut diamonds, classic styling and  quality gold work. The expertly set emerald has a beautiful vibrant green colour, displaying a greenish/blue hue. The emerald is surrounded by a halo of diamonds,  and flanked by diamonds down the shoulders of the band, leading down to a dainty , however substantial , polished and smooth band which allows for a  comfortable fit. Diamond History The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road. 

The first known emeralds were mined in Egypt around 1500 BC. One of Cleopatra's favorite stones was emerald, and her passion for the stone was well documented. Emeralds were discovered in South America in the 16th century by the Spanish. They were used by the Incas well before this discovery.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
