Topaz Royale - Estate 24K Gold Plate Over Sterling Silver Natural Sky Blue Topaz & White Topaz Intricate Ring. This pretty ring is crafted from 24K gold over sterling silver, hallmarked 925 SS. The ring features one natural oval cut faceted blue topaz gemstone, two natural round cut faceted white topaz gemstones, Victorian Revival styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery on this ring is expertly claw-set with a beautiful sky blue topaz, which exhibits an intricate open-worked setting, and glowing white topaz gemstones. The shank is smooth and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit. The colour of the gold has a rich buttery yellow hue, which looks gorgeous against the sky blue topaz. This estate ring would make a wonderful addition to any jewelry collection.

History: In mythology, topaz is portrayed as a gem of peace and healing. It was first found by the Romans over two millennia ago on the Island of Topazios in the Red Sea. They believed it could protect its wearer from enemies and bring reconciliation

White Topaz has a long history dating back to ancient civilizations, where it was used in jewelry and believed to possess mystical properties, offering strength, protection, and clarity. The name "topaz" likely comes from the Greek island Topazios or the Sanskrit word for "fire," though the pure, colorless variety we call White Topaz was sometimes mistaken for diamonds. Throughout history, it has been valued for its clarity, brilliance, and association with spiritual and mental well-being, continuing its use in modern jewelry.

Silver was discovered after gold and copper about 4000 bce, when it was used in jewelry and as a medium of exchange. The earliest known workings of significant size were those of the pre-Hittites of Cappadocia in eastern Anatolia.

Sterling silver, a 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper alloy, has a history rooted in 12th century England, initially used for coinage and later becoming popular for jewelry and other ornamental items.

What Is Gold-plated Jewelry? Gold-plated jewelry is a type of metal jewelry covered with a very thin layer of real gold. The process was invented in 1805 by Italian chemist Luigi Brugnatelli who plated a very thin gold layer on top of silver.
