Exquisite Jewel - Victorian 1862 18K, Emerald , Ruby & Opal Ring. This lovely ring is crafted from 18K solid yellow gold, hallmarked 18CT ( British hallmark for 18K gold), an Assay for Birmingham, and a hallmark for the year 1862. Featuring a natural block shaped emerald, 6 natural and synthetic old round cut rubies, 2 natural cabochon opals, two natural smaller block shape emeralds, exquisite detail and mid Victorian era styling. The central emerald has a lovely dreamy pale green colour, bordered above and below are 2 trefoils of deep red wine rubies. They are interspaced by pretty bobbles, whilst the central stone is flanked by 2 opal gemstones displaying bright fiery colours in the light. There are a further 2 terminal, block shaped emerald gemstones in the setting, displaying a rich deep green colour. Only the opal gemstones are exposed to the ring's reverse side. The sides of the head of the ring bear ornate gold metal twists which are all intact. The upper regions of the shank are bifurcated and composed of open-work loops and scrolls below. The hallmarks are striking and crisp and the ring is in exceptional condition considering its age. This lovely jewel has the most wonderful unique combination of gems which not only work well together, but are truly quite rare. The scarce Victorian era ring is a to be enjoyed and treasured for many years to come.
