Extraordinary Colour - Victorian 1860 -1880 Gold Enamel Earrings. These exquisite earrings are crafted from gold gilt metal. Featuring red, white, black, blue and gold enamel which has been delicately applied to these 19th century earrings. This is hand work of the finest quality. Do not be surprised that all this effort was applied to gilt metal. The ear wires have been made of gold. The appreciation of jewelry was not reserved for precious gold or gemstones. the workmanship and art were applauded for their merit. Think about the collectibility of cut steel, paste and esoteric materials. The pair of earrings in the Napoleonic style, is wafer light, allowing the earrings to be comfortable when worn. They are for pierced ears and feature gold shepherd ear wires. These extraordinary earrings are rare, especially in such pristine condition.
