Fire Within - Vintage Retro 10K Gold Garnet & Diamond Ring.  This elegant ring is crafted from 10K yellow and white gold, hallmarked 10K.  Featuring one natural emerald cut garnet, 6 natural round cut diamonds, classic styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery boasts an expertly claw-set vibrant red wine garnet, displaying a reddish/orangey hue. The beautiful garnet is flanked by 3 sparkling diamonds on each side, adding beauty and sparkle to the ring. The shoulders are wide with a lovely tapered band, which leads to a polished and smooth shank, which allows for a comfortable fit and easy sizing.  This Vintage ring is perfect for everyday wear, and the design is simply exquisite!

The history of garnet dates back to the Bronze Age, more than 5000 years ago. Its name, which has been used since these ancient times, was derived from the Latin word granatium, which means pomegranate (because the small, red crystals were thought to resemble pomegranate seeds). ... Garnet on Asbestos.

The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

People most likely first discovered gold in streams and rivers all over the world with its beauty and luster catching the eye. ... A few centuries later, around 1200 BC, the Egyptians discovered they could alloy gold with other metals in order to make it stronger and give it different color pigments.
