First Star I See Tonight - Vintage 14K Star Sapphire & Diamond Ring. This gorgeous ring is crafted from 14K yellow gold,  hallmarked 14K.  Featuring a natural oval cut cabochon star sapphire, 14 natural single cut diamonds, Retro styling and quality gold-work.  The expertly claw-set sapphire takes centre stage in this ring, displaying a beautiful plum colour, with a bluish /purple hue and a well formed star.  The sapphire is enhanced by bright, white sparkling diamonds. The gallery on this ring has open claw work, which makes for easy cleaning. There are two levels to this ring, the first is set with the incredible sapphire and the second houses the diamonds which enhance the sapphire beautifully.  The shoulders have a slight taper, leading down to a substantial smooth and polished shank.  This Vintage Retro era ring would make a very unique engagement ring, gift or addition to any fine jewelry collection.

Star sapphires have a long and fascinating history of being highly coveted and prized as very special and unique gemstones. Their special feature called asterism, a natural phenomenon, lends an added mystical element, and many throughout time have felt a special connection to these precious stones (1).  This wonderful example is a very unusual and beautiful purple colour.
