History: Goldstone is made from colored glass. The glass is so smooth and has a glittering effect that makes it look completely natural. The glittery appearance of goldstone is often attributed to "bits of copper" or "copper filings" that have been added to the glass.
The process for creating goldstone was invented by the Miotti family in Venice in the 1600s when they received an exclusive license, however, Persians were known to be producing goldstone before that made evident by the discovery of a 13th century amulet.
Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
The history of the Marquise Cut dates back to the 18th Century. King Louis XV of France paid a jeweller, to create a completely unique shaped diamond that compared to the lips of his mistress (Marquise de Pompadour) The cut has then been developed and modified, evolving it into the stunning cut known today.
