Greenscape - Vintage Gold Plated Jade & Rhinestone Ring. This pretty ring is crafted from gold plate over metal. Feating one oval cabochon jade (simulated) gemstone, two round cut rhinestones, and vintage styling. The gallery on this ring is claw-set with a green jade gemstone, which is adorned by to sparkling clear rhinestones. The band has an insert, which adjusts the ring size slightly. This vintage ring looks lovely when worn, a sweet affordable piece for any vintage costume jewelry collection.
Note: Simulated jade is often made from other materials such as glass or plastic and then dyed to imitate the real thing. Sometimes, even natural stones such as serpentine or quartzite can be treated to look like jade.
History: Georg Freidrich Strass in 1760 invented the first ever rhinestone (artificial gemstone) from a special type of crystal found in the Rhine River that the stones we know today were born.
