Heart Beat - Vintage 10K White & Rose Gold Diamond Trembler Pendant & 14K Chain. This sweet pendant is crafted from 10K white & rose gold, hallmarked 10K. The chain is hallmarked 14K. Featuring 27 natural round cut diamonds, and quality workmanship. The pendant is designed in the form of a heart shaped open-worked basket, which houses sparkling diamond. The diamonds are expertly set into a white gold gallery and a rose gold mechanism that trembles when there is movement. This mechanism allows the trembling gems to catch the light, which adds even more sparkle to the diamonds. The Vintage pendant has been matched up to a white gold chain, which works perfectly with the petite pendant. The lovely necklace would make a perfect gift for that special someone.
Tremblers are aptly named items of vintage jewelry, because, well, they tremble! These unique finds have parts that are set on metal that vibrates with movement. We see trembler jewelry most often as earrings with baubles a-flutter set on short lengths of chain.
Diamond History The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.
Although the origin of white color gold dates back to 1710, where it was discovered by two alchemists in Germany, it wasn't used widely until much later. White gold as we know it today was really popularised in the 1920s. Although it might seem strange, this luxury material came to popularity in wartime.
Rose gold was first used in early 19th century Russia by the famed jeweler Carl Faberge in his infamous Faberge Eggs, as was known as Russian Gold. Rose gold later gained popularity in the United Stated during the lavish and feminine 1920's, and was worn in engagement rings and fine jewelry.
